What is the Monthly Group?

One of the biggest struggles students face with this exam is the lack of deadlines and assignments as they have in school. It is not uncommon for students with great grades in school to When you study for the dietitian exam, there is no preceptor or professor who is checking in on you or requesting assignments from you. Students are often studying on their own and also miss the classroom environment.

For these students I have made my monthly tutoring group. This 4 week courses provides students with the structure and accountability they need to stay on track with their studying. Classes are limited to 10 students each. Each week we meet on Monday nights as a group for 1.5 hours (8-9:30p EST). Each class is focused on 1 domain and start with 30 minutes of Q/A. Students are encouraged to come to class with any questions that have for that domain whether it be how to study a certain topic, a practice question they got stuck on or practice explaining a concept to the group.

Then from 8:30-9:30p EST we have a 60 minute practice question class. We use each question to not only test the students' knowledge of the topic, but also t review test taking strategies and review the topic the question in on.

Between classes students have video lessons and homework assignments to complete independently. All packages come with access to 22 video classes, study guides and homework assignments, but students also have the option to select upgraded packages that include additional videos.

All homework questions are open ended to encourage learning and for me to be able to better evaluate areas that the student struggles with most. Students have 1 week to complete the homework for each domain and are able to turn in their homework to me for review and comments. The need to turn in homework by a due date to get feedback is very helpful for students who need extra accountability.

Student Reviews:

"I'm in the last week of the November group & it has been so incredibly helpful! After studying on my own for my first RD exam attempt and missing it by ONE POINT, I knew I needed something with a little more structure and accountability when it came to studying for round 2 & that is exactly what this group provided! Seeing the information in a different way/form and being able to ask questions and get feedback on homework assignments helped me better understand topics I hadn't fully grasped before!" -CC (November Group)

"I have been a part of Dana's Facebook group since the beginning and I knew that when it was my time to take classes, I would want to take from her. I took the RD exam group (and a couple recorded classes) and I am extremely happy! I cannot believe all of the resources, homeworks, powerpoint and other mini lessons that were included on my teachable account each week, on top of the live classes! Dana gives great feedback on homework and is always eager to answer questions. I highly recommend taking classes from Dana! You truly get so many great resources on top of an awesome tutor."

-AL (June Group)

"Group Tutoring Sessions with Dana is GREAT! The homework assignments she gives are very thorough and cover a variety of important topics you might see on the exam. She is very timely with responses and has great availability, she is only just an email away! Her feedback on the homework assignments are great, as well as her lectures. She really enriched my learning experience for this exam. She truly cares for her students and wants us to succeed, I 10/10 recommend her group tutoring sessions!"

-RR (April Group)

"The logistics of the whole process are easy. Registering is simple, all materials/classes are in one spot, Dana is super accessible throughout the group, and you get to download all materials/handouts. I also liked how you get discounts and exclusive access to certain material if you are part of the group. The month goes bye so fast and all classes are general information so make sure you are willing to study individually throughout the weeks. Moreover, you can add extra classes for more detailed and enjoy free content on Dana's Facebook page. This course was a great add-on to my studying journey!" -Evelyn (January Group Member)
