With the new year I know a goal on many of your lists is to pass this exam! With any goal, it isn't just enough to say that is that we want to do, but we have to make a list of actionable steps to get us there! When we apply this to studying, a good first place to stay is to take is to do a self assessment of where you are in your studying. For my students I like them to use my study check list to do this. If you don't have it yet click here to download for free! This list lists all of the different topics on the exam and it is helpful to go through and label as green (know well), yellow (need to review) and red (need to learn). This activity helps to really specify what it is that you need to focus on vs just say that you need to work on a domain in general!
Another thing to think about too is if you aren't progressing in your practice question/exam scores or on the actual exam you need to be honest with yourself and make sure you are actually actively students and retaining the information. Remember it is quality over quantity. If you just studied a topic and don't explain it to someone else or answer a question on it you need to go back and learn it. A great way to activity study is join and participate in (answering questions with your camera) on a group class. If you haven't already, check out my new blog post on why I love to recommend group classes to my students! In January some great group classes planned for my weekly Wednesday night (8pest) groups, including a round of my practice question classes next week!
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year! I'm so grateful that I have been able to turn my passion for working with students into a career! 2021 was an awesome year for the tutoring portion of my business with 110 1:1 students, 12 rounds of my monthly group tutoring, the Facebook page growing to over 1K members and over 400 recorded course sales! You guys are the best and I truly love my job as your tutor!
