Every since I graduated high school, I have always liked to get myself a gift for big accomplishments. I think it is important to take a moment to pat yourself on the back because all accomplishments are not without hard work!
So when I got accepted to my clinical inpatient job I wanted to get myself something special to celebrate it. As I do like to be a smart shopper, I wanted to get something what world really be worth the money. After a few days of contemplating I decided to buy myself a CSA farm share!
CSA stands community supported agriculture. You purchase a membership and in return you get a beautiful box of fresh produce! I got the summer vegetable flex share so I get a box 2x a month, which is perfect because I am just cooking for myself and I don't want to have too much food waste.
Reason that I Decided to Get a CSA:
▪️To help support local farms that use sustainable agriculture practice
▪️To help me to eat more local and seasonal food
▪️To have fun trying a ton of new vegetables
So far off to a great start and I can’t wait to share all the different produce I get and the recipes I make with my CSA produce! I know one of the most common questions that I have gotten is if the box is too much food for one person and I think it will be fine, but stay tuned for another blog post with the answer soon!
